REF: AP-HOME / ESTATE RECORDS

Family papers, held carefully.
Records found, organised, preserved.

We work with families across Kuala Lumpur who need to bring order to documents after a bereavement, or who want to put their records in good shape before they are needed. We build inventories, scan and archive originals, and explain published procedures in plain language.

SCOPE NOTE — AP-SCO-001

Arkib Pusaka organises documents, builds family archives, researches family history from public and family sources, explains publicly published procedures in plain language, and coordinates appointments. We do not advise on entitlements or ownership, do not represent anyone before any authority, do not value or hold property, and do not handle money on anyone's behalf. All decisions remain with the family throughout.

AP-BEN / WHY FAMILIES CHOOSE US

A steady pair of hands when papers matter most

We are not a law firm, a valuers' office, or an estate agent. We do one thing: bring careful archival method to family records so families have everything in order when they need it.

Everything in one place

We build a single, well-organised record set so no document is overlooked and nothing needs to be searched for twice.

Unhurried and careful

We work at the pace the family needs. There is no pressure to decide quickly, and sessions can be paused and resumed.

Originals always with you

Every original document stays in the family's hands. We work with copies, scans, and notes — not the papers themselves.

Multi-language records

We coordinate accredited translation for documents in Malay, Mandarin, Tamil or other languages, so nothing stays unread.

Family tree research

For the Complete Programme, we trace family connections through public registries and family sources, producing a written timeline.

Plain-language guidance

We explain what each document is, which office issued it, and how replacement copies are obtained — drawing on publicly available information.

Not sure where to start with the family papers?

A short phone conversation is usually enough to work out which service fits the family's situation. We are happy to listen before anything is decided.

AP-FAQ / COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions families often ask

If your question is not here, please call or write — we are glad to answer before any commitment is made.

We are not sure what documents we have. Can you help us find out?
Yes — that is exactly what the Document Inventory Session is designed for. We come to wherever the papers are held, work through everything together, and produce a written list you can keep and share with other family members. Missing items are noted alongside the office that issues each.
Will you take the original documents away?
No. All original documents stay with the family at all times. For the Family Archive Build and Complete Programme, we collect documents for a day of scanning, then return them. We sign a receipt for everything we handle and return each item on a set date. We do not hold originals overnight without a signed agreement.
Can you tell us whether the will is valid or who is entitled to the estate?
No — that falls outside what we do. We are an archive and records organisation service, not legal advisers. We can find a will in the family papers, note its date and condition in the inventory, and explain how the relevant public office describes the process for submitting it — but questions of validity or entitlement are for a qualified solicitor or, where applicable, the Amanah Raya process.
How long does the Complete Estate Records Programme take?
The programme runs for nine months. This allows time for multi-branch research, translation of documents in different languages, and review meetings at a pace that suits the family. A detailed schedule with milestones is agreed at the start.
We have documents in both Malay and Mandarin. Can you handle these?
Yes. For documents in languages other than English, we coordinate accredited translation through a commissioner of oaths arrangement the family approves. Translated copies are included in the archive alongside the originals.
What is the difference between the Family Archive Build and the Complete Programme?
The Family Archive Build (RM 1,950) focuses on one household's documents over six weeks: scanning, indexing, and physical storage. The Complete Estate Records Programme (RM 4,500) covers families with documents in multiple states or across generations, adds genealogy research, home visits in the Klang Valley, four briefing meetings, and coordination with the professional advisers the family appoints. If you are unsure which fits, the Document Inventory Session (RM 620) is a good way to assess the scope before committing to either.
How do you keep our family information private?
Every engagement begins with a confidentiality agreement. Scanned files are stored on an encrypted server and delivered only to named family members on encrypted media. Paper notes and working documents are held in locked storage and are destroyed once the handover is complete.
